Planning an India wedding from the US: what to ask

Ask about guest travel and hotel blocks, venue permits, vendor availability in the wedding season, and who your point of contact on the ground will be. A planner with local teams makes the difference.

Tips and tricks

A few things we tell every couple at the start.

Fix the guest list first

The number of guests shapes your venue, menu and budget, so settle it early and revisit it only once.

Book the big things early

Venues, photographers and decorators for popular dates fill up fast, especially for multi-day weddings.

Keep a buffer in the budget

Set aside about 10 percent for surprises, so a late change never forces a hard choice.

Name one point of contact

With many family members involved, one decision-maker for each event keeps things calm.

Look after your guests

Plan travel, hotels, local transport and weather, especially when family is flying in from abroad.

Pack a wedding-day kit

Sewing supplies, safety pins, snacks, chargers and pain relief save the day more often than you would think.

Inspiration

Colors and moods to start your imagination. Every palette is shaped around your own story.

Royal jewel tones

Deep ruby, emerald and gold for a regal, palace-style celebration.

Blush and gold

Soft, romantic and timeless, with warm gold details.

Marigold and saffron

Bright, joyful colors for haldi, mehndi and sangeet.

Garden pastels

Fresh, airy and floral for daytime ceremonies and brunches.

Have a color or mood in mind? Tell us in your inquiry and we will design around it.
